a chronological rendering of the American path from the debacle of Pearl Harbor to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. A must read for any serious student of American history and endeavor.
more Americans should educate themselves about the great war: from submarine warfare in the Atlantic, to the sinking of the Bismarck, to the land war in Europe, to the rise of Naziism, to the siege of Stalingrad..... Then, perhaps we would have more reasonable and responsible political choices.
Helas, most do not even know who we fought in WW II...

Well suited for the reader desiring a thorough overview of the US campaign in the Pacific during World War II. Maps and other illustrations would have significantly enriched this work. Their absence was often frustrating.
