U 212 white camouflage?

Hi folks,

I bought the Revell 1/144 Type VIIC/41 a while back and now I'm almost done painting it. The included paint scheme alternatives caught my interest since it featured a U 212 (if I recall correctly) scheme where the superstructure and tower were supposed to be painted white (the deck being grey though). I assume this was intended to be a winter camouflage pattern since the U 212 spent several patrols far north in what I assume were quite snowy and icy conditions.

Does anyone know if there's any historical record of any u-boats ever having been painted white? I've tried to find pictures but so far failed.

FYI, I decided to paint it white in either case since it made for an unusual and quite stunning look that goes well with heavy weathering. If that makes it historically inaccurate I guess I'll just have to live with it.
