DK Models makes an excellent 1/48 scale Type VIIC that has
weld lines, correct markings for vents/drain holes, and etc..The
person who makes this kit plans to sell a limited number of them
(hull, conning tower, and accessories) this Fall. It's been quite
a few years since Dan Kachur, the person behind DK Models,
has sold this hand-made sub. At 54.5 inches, it is a convienent
size, easy to detail, and is BY FAR, the MOST accurate scale
representation of the Type VIIC U-boat ever made!....Check out
the message board on the SubCommittee website for information
on ordering etc...Remember, each fiberglass hull is hand-made
and all accessory parts( guns, rudders, bow/stern planes, etc...)
are hand-cast from resin so you may have to wait a few months
before you receive your kit. But, believe me, it's well worth it!...

Hope this helps!
