Hi all,

I'm not strong in the area of modeling and have no direct experience with this club, but from the evidence at hand (their web site at [www.modelsubmarines.org] indicating they've been around since 1982, and with a bulletin board containing contributions by current members; and the fact that Gudmundur has it listed as a reputable organization on the uboat.net modeling page) I would suggest that there is no scam involved, but rather some internal disorganization on the club's part.

Many clubs (and web sites) are run by volunteers, and there are many possibilities which might account for long delays. For example, if the person charged with acknowledging receipt of membership fees quits the club or goes on summer holiday, then this would naturally cause a delay in response.

My suggestions would be (1) check with your bank to see if they have cashed your cheque, and (2) call or email them to find out what is causing the delay, if you have not attempted to do so already.
