Hi Kevin,
For a start, you\'ll want to be able to do the following functions, each requiring a channel on the r/c system:
1 - speed control (for motor)
2 - rudder
3 - dive planes
4- ballast system
5 - torpedoes (this may be more than one channel, depending on how you build this sub-system)
Other functions, e.g scopes, could require more channels.
You didn\'t say where you are located, but one of the radios that has become a favorite of the r/c sub crowd in the U.S. is the Robbe Navy F-14 system. This is a very expandable radio.....you do the add-ons yourself, no need to have Robbe do it.
The distributor for the F-14 in the U.S. is Ships n\' Things.. You can find a link to them on the vendor\'s page on the SubCommittee web site (www.subcommittee.com)
-hope this helps,
Jeff
