Type XXI deck hatches

Folks,

I am in the process of finishing some drawings for making photo-etched deck hatches for a 1/48th scale Type XXI U-boat kit....and have a question.

Can anyone tell me (or better yet, provide some photos) whether or not the individual 'slots' in the deck hatches were squared off at the ends or rounded like the Type VIIC?

To date, I have use the Fritz Kohl drawings as my primary reference.
