Hi Woody,
Merry Xmas, Happy New Year and foremost congrats for having such a generous mom. I am envious. Email above.
The wood on deck was NOT painted but treated with some kind of wood preservative (creosote type) which left the wood almost black (antracyte?spelling?). The saltwater and sun, however, had the tendency of bleaching the deck after a while to brownish woodcolor until stained again. Metal parts on deck were painted in a matching muddy blackgrey.
Can't identify the object you want clarification on. Please email a scanned photo. Rgds, RB
