Model whereabouts

Hallo all. I would like to purchase a plastic model kit of a U boat type VIIc or type IXC. Here is my question. Who makes the best? as well as where can I find these? I would like for the completed project to be at the least 12 inches long. I havent built a model in 25 years so I don't know the first thing about scale. Bigger is better in my book. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Allen R. Butler
