The colour below the water line on the IXB U-boats were a dark-grey (flat) colour
with the upper hull in a (flat) light grey colour, including the conning tower.

The early German U-boats before the war, had below the water lines flat red.?
But I've heard some arguments in the past, that the bottom U-boats hull were not flat red....but I'm very sure these U-boats did have there bottom hulls painted dark grey during WWII.

Btw....Is this Academy IXB U-boat worth buying...?
