Dougie.. thanks very much for the help.! I appreciate how weathering will effect the final appearance, but these are GREAT suggestions for my base colors.
Just two more questions if someone has the answer. The metal floor plating in the conning tower/gun platform.. would it be the 'dark' grey? ..and the wood planking around the interior.. also the 'black' preservative like the wooden deck surface?
Thanks again.. From conversations with modeler buddies and what I read on some other modeling forums, quite a few guys who are experienced with armor and aircraft modeling are building this U-Boat because it is such an EVENT IN MODELING HISTORY. This thread, gathering the basic color suggestions together without being paint brand specific, should be very helpful.
