Dougie - great job,
Perhaps a little reality check would help. As one who has participated in painting models, real naval craft and antique show cars, some basic bits of wisdom include:
- no two cans of paint are the same color. only by mixing the cans together (for the whole job) will it come out one color. A norm for cars, hard to do for a ship.
- to achieve a uniform (concours) finish, you paint it all at once.
- these U Boats were not concours show pieces!
Oh yes, is the red often mentioned from photographs, really RUST?
