Thanks for the help, Wiljan. This is a very popular model now across the Scale Modeler spectrum. Some people will be building 'from the box', others for the level of detail that pleases them, still others as 'museum quality' pieces for entry into IPMS and other contests. Many will have no 'go by' other than the illustrations on the box, as much of their reference material may be geared to Aircraft or Armor. I too have no interest in in the unrealistic ONE RIGHT COLOR approach that sometimes shows up in contest judging. Armor modeling has taught me the error of that mind set. What I am hoping for, and have already received from kind contributors here, is some BASIC color scheme and detail color suggestions which will help myself and others get going in the right direction. Modelers have always been a cooperative and helpful community, regardless of their subject tastes. THIS SITE seems to be the worldwide gathering place for U-Boat afficianados and, therfore, the most logical source for useful U-Boat modeling information.
