Type VII-C tower floor colour

Hello all,
Another question (I searched here first but didn't find anything definitive).
I am a little confused as the Wolfpack modelling articles list the colour of the tower floor of a VII-C as being the dark wood preservative paint on the wooden floor forward of the UZO, and dark grey/black behind. However I have the "Super Drawings in 3D - The VII-C Type U-BOOT" and this shows the whole tower floor as the same as the upper hull colour.
Can anyone confirm which is correct? Once again I am modelling U-96 in 1941.
Thanks in advance,
Tim
