Hi Jon
Thank you for this at least now I have a clearer idea on what to look for. As you mention photos are hard to find seeing it was war years.
Perhaps locating a 1/72 scale uboat with a term 0 conning tower then modifying Revell's IXC decking might work. Likely a mammoth project for a 76 year old modeler. Last time I helped my son build a model was some 40 years ago.
