Hi folks,
In translating U-618's war diary, I came across the following passage in regards to the port diesel engine:
My best guess:
"All of the screws that connect the spark catchers to the spark catcher impingement baffles have fallen out and must be replaced."
Can anyone suggest improvements, or shed some light on the mechanical details? U-618 was a type VIIC, commissioned in April 1942. Thanks!
