I forgot about one more thing, here (http://www.uboatarchive.net/U-177INT.htm)
is available interrogation report of survivors from U-177.
U-177 was type IXD2 boat, laid down two years before U-864.
Here is the drawing of the machine rooms, where you can see two diesel compressors.

Of course, as it is report from interrogation, it should be read with some distrust, but
I think, that it confirms assumption, that U-864 was fitted with Junkers compressor.
