Hi there - I'm looking for reference sources of information on the technical characteristics of the sonobuoys carried by Allied aircraft in WW II. Information seems to be in short supply.Things like:
Hydrophone Characteristics: - Operating Frequencies and Acoustic Bandwidth-Deployment depth of the Hydrophone - Hydrophone construction; piezo electric or ceramic
Radio Frequency Transmitter - Transmitter Frequency and number of RF Channels-
Transmitter Radiated Power Level - Modulation: AM or FM
Power Source - What kind of battery was used
I find some general information related to development dates and early testing but nothing that contains technical details of the sonobuoy itself.
Can anyone steer me to a source of this information?
Thanks for your help.
