This is what I found on the forums of [www.uwm.edu] . Check the Kriegsmarine section of the new forums with the header "Type IXD Uboats"

........As far as I can tell, the following Type IXD boats had the upper deck reduced in width and were tapered at the bow to reduce diving time: U195; U864; U873-875; and U883.

In regards to other Type IX boats, a larger number had the upper deck reduced in width (for the same reason). These were: U170; U190; U516; U530; U539; U804; U858; U866-868; U1232; and U1233...........( Reply by Ben Evans )
