torpedo firing order

after renting u-571 , the american trying to fire the torpedos was sreaming he couldnt equalize the tubes to launch the torpedos because he couldnt find the equalizer valve ,being it was all in german . was this all just for the movie ? if anyone knows what is the step by step firing procedure to fire torpedos is ,and what part does air presure have to do with the procedure. if anyone could comment id apreciate it . john teague
