P.S.
Unlike in other WWII submarines ,in U-Boats and American subs it was not necessary to point the boat at the target; the torpedoes, receiving continually corrected courses into their gyroscopic automatic steering gear until they left the tubes, would turn inmediately onto the desired course as soon as they were fired.
