Tony:

That is very interesting. It would be interesting to know which boat the old German \"bloke\" was aboard which sunk. I am reading a book titled \"Hitlers Naval War\", and one of many stories of the book, it describes how the Prien\'s U-47 was sunk by the HMS Wolverine. The skipper of the Wolverine stated that during his depth charge attack, he witnessed a \"dull red glow for 10 seconds underwater\", this sign confirmed to him that he hit his target, un-knowing to him she was the U-47 until after the war. When you think about it, counting 10 seconds, thats some explosion! Does anyone know what could have causes such a long detonation? I would be interested to know. I guess it all depends where the depth charge was detonated in relationship to the hull.
