Hi Frank,
I meant with your correct guess, that the valves were opened and closed manually. Please reread the last exchange of postings with me and Robert Eno. You could not do that precise quantity regulation with a tank always open to the sea.
Other question: Do not know the exact sequence of valve openings etc. Am sure proceedure of daily test dives to determine trim was somewhat different from emergency dives, during which one not only floods main dive tank, but also drives the boat under by her speed. Rgds, RB
