Whatever the Germans used for a torpedo data computer, it must have worked as well or better than the American TDC. They sent plenty of ships to the bottom. I would have to give a big edge to the American subs with the radar system, faster surface speed, 21 knots vs. 18 for the type 9 and 16 for the type 7. The range was better and underwater they manuevered much better.
