Hi everyone,

The way I see it, the only way a submariner can get the bends is if he escaped the u-boat using an air-breathing instrument and went up too fast. Kurt is right about the fact that the hull protected the bodies from the pressure, however, if the pressure valve was not regulated when a sub would ascend towards the surface, I think problems could occur. In addition, without the pressure regulating valve, the hatch would be impossible to open.

Please correct me if I\'m wrong here. I\'m speaking from my own logic as i don\'t know that much about u-boat mechanics.
