If the usage sounds like an explosive, the weight specified seems to fit within the anticipated range of a \"booster\" charge. The weight is too large for the primary explosive in a fuze, and too small for the secondary high explosive of the main charge. Booster charges were explosives of intermediate sensitivity used to reliably react to the small energy release of the minimum quantity of heat or shock sensitive explosive in the fuze and then generate enough energy to reliably initiate high-order detonation of relatively insensitive explosives like TNT or ammonium nitrate. This is just a guess, but you might check to see if it fits with the other data you have. =AL=
