Yours sounds like the most plausible theory I\'ve heard yet, though the Acylus was not the only ship having a volatile cargo in the convoy. I don\'t necessarily agree with the Task Force Unit Commander, it\'s just something I have never heard of before. But would not steaming so far astern of the convoy make the Ancylus easier pickings for a U-boat?
