Several countries developed peroxide torpedoes, including the USA, Germany, Sweden, the Soviets, and Britain. Most gave them up decades ago, but I think Sweden still uses them. As a propulsion system, it has many advantages over systems using compressed air, and even compressed oxygen, but there is a very serious safety issue.

The German peroxide powered subs are well-known. Britain followed suit in the 50's, when they built HMS Explorer and Excalibur. The former was known as HMS Exploder. Can we guess why?

They lost HMS Sidon when a peroxide torpedo exploded on board.

For the record, pure oxygen had its risks too. For example, at least 3 Japanese heavy cruisers suffered torpedo fires/explosions during the war.
