When I mentioned the consistency of the "grease," I failed to include the fact that when the "mixers" conducted their periodic maintenance
routines, which included giving the air flask of a G7a torpedo a charge to bring it up to its designed operating pressure (about 3,000psi) re-applying the grease would be real easy on the air flask section, due to the heat that was generated during the air charge. There would be no point in greasing the afterbody section because it does not come in contact with the bore of the tube, right?
