This question relates to the U-Boat Deck Gun.
The question was could a U-Boat crash dive with the Deck Gun out of the neutral (forward) position? That is, if the crew was using the deck gun, and the U-Boat suddenly spotted an enemy aircraft, did the crew have to secure the Deck Gun before they could dive?
What were the ramifications of NOT replacing the water tight barrel plug or diving with the deck gun out of the secured position?
