Dear Millar,

U-287 was scuttled in the Elbe Estuary on 16 May 1945.

There is mention in:

Paterson's "Black Flag" on page 24.

Madsen's "The Royal Navy and German Naval Disarmament 1942-1947" on page 180.

Niestle's "German U-Boat Losses" on page 53,

Wynn's "U-Boat Operations - Vol 1" on page 200 (though the information is wrong!)
