I have the same question for the Jersey 88.
it is a "8,8cm S.K.C/35 in 8,8cm Ubts.L.C/35", sounds pretty submarine to me..
This specific gun has nearly all it's parts stamped "77"
I was hoping there is some record kept about uboat changes and/or that there was a habit of marking equipment with the number of the boats.
I have no further clue wheter U77 could have been the "home" of this gun.
the jersey 88 is salvaged from a unidentified armed trawler (vorpostenboot)
at the french atlantic coast, and it could well be that the gun started
out on a sub. around 1943 they were taken off the subs, and therefore could have been reused on these surface vessels (they were located close to the sub bases..)
