It seems, that this attack occured during first combat patrol
(7.08.1942 - 22.10.1942), after 29 days at sea.

There were special instructions for handling the torpedoes on
the U-boats during patrol - both these loaded into the tubes
and these stored in the torpedo room.
For example, for G7e torpedoes, every 5-6 days the battery was
tested and charged. I don't know, if the electric motor was
tested.
