Hi,
the standard charging procedure was charging with constant current of value 1650 A, till the cell voltage achieve 2,4 V. Then the current was gradually reduced (in about hour) to 415 A (to maintain constant voltage). Then charging was completed.
I know, that starting from 2,2 V per cell to the end of charing took about 3,5 h. By extrapolating this data down to maximum discharge voltage (~1,8 V per cell), I would say, that charging of the depleted battery would take about 8 hours with maximum current 1650 A (that means running single generator at 450 RPM).
There was "fast charging" option possible - by doubling the current, which shortened charging time by about 1/3.
