Hi,

the FuMO-30 antenna was lowered mechanically. In the lowered position it was stowed
in the pocket of the conning tower casing. Therefore, before lowering it has to be
properly aligned with the casing. You can see the pocket for the antenna on this

(it is Hohentwiel antenna, but it was quite similar to the FuMO-61 antenna).

The radar antenna was raised and lowered by means of low pressurized air
(similiary to the radio-direction-finder loop antenna).
