Heidenreich,
The situation in which the unit-aircraft be used would be if the captain of the boat decided to fight it out on the surface or he was caught by surprise on the surface.

What would make you think that the gun crew would still be at they position during a crash drive? The crew would be inside the boat on after having securing the anit-aircraft guns and hatches. I would hope.
