Guncotton.

Does anyone know why the Kriegsmarine used guncotton in their torpedo warheads. It is a rather weak explosive when you compare it to hexogen/cyclonite. One would think that everything would be done to maximize the bang of a torpedo considering the expense and effort involved in getting it to its target.
