Delta Engine / German Submarine?

Hi!

I discovered in a very old factory a generator that was powered by an old diesel engine. The owner told me that this is a german manufaturer called "Delta". And that engines have been used in german submarines.
I already searched the web for infos but was not succesful, also I do not know much about submarines.
Does anyone know something about that Delta engines?
