I have just come across some of my late father's personal notes of his time in the Royal Navy during WW11.
At 24 years of age, he was Captain(Temporary Sub-Lieutenant) of LcT615 when it was destroyed in 1945 on the beach at Genoa. It seems it was a dramatic event involving several other vessels.
(His actions won him the DSC)
If anyone would find the description of events useful/interesting.. please let me know..
