<HTML>I believe you if you say that the Bliskawica reached 40 kn during trials, but I should also suggest that the only ships designed to reach such a speed in operational conditions were the French "Mogador" class destroyers and the Italians light cruisers of the "Capitani Romani" ( roman commanders ) class.
One of those ships, the Pompeo Magno, outrunned a British MTB while passing through the Sicily Channel cruising at an average speed of 42 kn.
The Bliskawica's was a remarkable record, but I fear that while fighting they would have not reached such a speed: a direct hit on the boiler rooms would have caused the whole ship to blow up!!!</HTML>
