Arkansas was one of two Wyoming class battleships.
Launched Jan.14, 1911
Displacement 26,100 tons
Armament (as of 1944) Twelve 12" guns, 10 Ten 3" guns twenty four 40 mm.,
and thirty two 20 mm anti-aircraft guns.
Arkansas provided convoy protection and participated in shore bombardment
at Normandy.
Max Speed 20.5 knots
Expended as a target for nuclear test at Bikini Atoll July 25, 1946</HTML>
