Here is what I have on HMCS Stone Town:

Builder: Canadian Vickers Ltd., Montrteal
Launched: March 28, 1944
Commissioned: July 21, 1944

Wartime Service:
Assigned as Senior Officer's ship to Escort group C-8.
Made 12 Atlantic crossings as a mid-ocean escort ship.
Returned to Canada in May, 1945.

Paid off: November 13, 1945

Postwar Career:
Sold to the Department of Transport and modified as a weather ship.
Served as weather ship in the North Pacific between 1952 and 1967.

Fate:
Sold in 1968.

Name:
Was originally named for Kingston, Ontario but could not use it because of
HMS Kingston.
