I do not have any photos or history of the crew but "may" be able to provide you with information on a photo of the ship.

I have a stunning photo of 3 Town Class Destroyers that the RCN received early in the war. The photo is of 3 ships in Halifax with hull numbers 175, 162, and 106. These are the original US Navy numbers still on the hulls. If the USS Bancroft had any one of these original numbers then, at least, I can point you in the correct direction to purchase the photo.
