THORODD and SYRIAN were not whalecatchers, but norw. fishingvessels (seiners). Both have some earlier naval history as THORODD was built as french escortvessel FLEURUS in 1919, and SYRIAN was the former "Mersey-class" escortetrawler H.M.S. WILLIAM FORBES from 1919.
