HMS Venus & HMS Royal Albert

I'm new to this forum, although I'm reasonably familiar with this site (which is excellent, by the way).

I'm currently researching my father's wartime service with the RN. He joined up in late 1943, served on HMS Venus for a while, but by D-Day he had transferred to coastal forces. After being quite badly injured he then served in Hamburg in 1945-6, as part of HMS Royal Albert, and lived, I think, in barracks at Buxtehude.

The only info I can find out about the Venus regards D-Day and the Far East after that. I know dad took part in at least one arctic convoy to Murmansk, which I think must have been at the beginning of 1944. If anyone knows anything about the ship I'd love to hear it. And if someone knows any information at all about the Royal Albert I'd be interested as I don't seem to be able to find out much about it.
