You asked whether the book was worth buying. I personally think it is; it is an alphabetical listing of the shore establishments and static ships (i.e. training ships/depot ships/accomodation ships etc) of the RN from the 19th century onwards. It gives the location, when commissioned and when closed. It also has a gazeteer so that you can find the name of an establishment if you know the location. As such it complements Colledge's 'Ships of the Royal Navy'.
I believe Maritime Books at Liskeard are the main stockist (website at:
