HMS Circassia

<HTML>Can anyone help ?
I am trying to find out if HMS Circassia carried troops from South Africa to England in 1942 and in the course of this trip was damaged causing the passengers to abandon ship.Or was there another ship carrying troops on this route called Circassia which was sunk in 1942 ?
