My father was born on the 10th August 1923. His name was Nelson John Giles, or Pete/Peter to his friends. One of many children, he eventually joined the Royal Navy and served during the war in 1939 – 1945 as a radio operator or Signals, (unsure precisely when or where, hence this correspondence). I have a photo of my father and a picture of the V and W class Destroyer HMS WINCHESTER number “L55”. I would like to find out more about the L55 her journeys, adventures and any close calls or even combat scenarios if at all! And, if my father was on board, anything else about him, from any of the crew. Please contact us on the following address, MARK GILES c/o grishnakh_the_orc@hotmail.com…………………..Thank you!</HTML>
