My dad served on Exe in WW2.
The ship took part in the North African landings in Nov. 1942 (Operation Torch).
The war correspondent and author Alan Moorehead hitched a ride on Exe
to Africa and wrote about it briefly at the beginning of one of his books.
Can`t remember which but have it somewhere.
Other duties were mostly North Atlantic convoy escort and anti-submarine.
