<HTML>I'm looking for information regarding a Uboat engagement with a USCG manned destroyer escort in the days following the surrender of Germany. My Father was the sonarman on the DE and was injured by shrapnel from the surfaced U-boat. He served on the Lowe but no one seems to remember this engagement. The U-boat shelled the flying bridge and he was hit in the abdomen in the sonar hut. It must have been between May 5 and 15th, 1945.
