<HTML>In the Allied shipping section on this site, referring to HMS Exmoor, it states that she was "Sunk by torpedo in position 52.32N 02.05E while escorting Convoy FN 417, she was hit aft by a torpedo fired by the German MTB S-30, she caught fire and sank quickly."
I've seen onother sites information about the position, date and MTB, but this is the only site that refers to her being hit aft, catching fore and sinling quickly.
My uncle - Norman Pritt - was a crew member who died on the ship, and I'm trying to find out more information about the shipp and the convoy.
Does anyone know where the information about the sinking came from? Where there any survivors? Was the Exmoor the only ship protecting the convoy? And what happended to the convoy?
Sorry to have so many questions, it's what happens when you start to get intrested in something 60 years after the event!
Many thanks
